Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA), made by Merz Pharmaceuticals, belongs to a class of drugs called botulinum toxins, which are derived from the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. Xeomin is primarily used for cosmetic and therapeutic purposes and is another option to Botox for a more natural result.
For cosmetic purposes, Xeomin is used to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and fine lines. It works by temporarily freezing the muscles responsible for causing these wrinkles and ultimately creating a smoother appearance of the skin.
Xeomin is made through a unique precision manufacturing process that uses two filtration steps to isolate the therapeutic component of the molecule and removes the complexing/unnecessary proteins that don't play an active role in treatment. Xeomin is a double filtered neurotoxin making it a purified form of botulinum toxin type A.
